I'm a bad bad bad blogger. Shame shame. It's so funny how you get behind and overwhelmed and it gets hard to climb your way out! I ment to post, then would have another client and mean to post and then debate on posting and what to post and how many images to post... you get the idea. Soon I was in mental shut down. So my dearest blog, I apologize for the neglect and lack of activity.

So, in honor of getting back to it, I am going to post just a few of my favs (ok, WAY too many) from a few of my clients over the past couple of months since I "saw" you last. Enjoy and I hope to be back to at least weekly posting now!

Wow folks! My blog has been so so so neglected. I really don't know what has gotten into me lately! Good news is, this spring weather is really energizing and has done a lot to bring me out of my hiatus!

I have a few newborn sessions that I want to share and an awesome engagement session that will need some Sneak Peeks! I also have several maternity sessions booked I am excited about! Since they usually lead to newborns, I'm looking so forward to that as well.

I'm not completely booked for April and it's not too late for Senior pictures for 2010. I have two of those sessions in April booked as well. Give me a shout if you need/want to squeeze your Senior in before the end of the school year! I will be starting with 2011 Seniors in the summer.

Just a note to all of you that I'm still in the land of the living and getting things moving again.

It's so not like me to not Blog, but to be honest friends, I have been in a funk. I mean I'm OK, I've just hit some sort of wall. I'm noticing this every year around this time, but for some reason this year has been the hardest. I think it comes from working like a mad woman in the fall through the Holiday Season. January hits and I breath for the first time in weeks and then my mood goes south.

I think I get creatively tapped out. I start longing for something new, different, and challenging. I begin to ponder what I'm doing, why I'm doing it, and what I should be doing differently.

For instance, I hate selling. I hate pushing myself and my art as a product, but at the same time I need this as a business because the equipment, computers, and software alone are eating my lunch. I have come to a decision on pricing and will be experimenting with it this year. If it proves that the benefits do not out-weigh my cost, I may have to rethink my pricing again.

I have decided to go to mainly digital sessions since my least favorite part of this business is pushing and hoping for print orders. These sessions would include the images at the resolution they were captured in, a release of the images to my clients for personal use, posting, and printing (but not artistically altering). The pricing will be as follows:

Mini-Digital Session - Session fee $350
Included:
30-45 minute Session Time
12+ hand crafted edited images on CD (Artists Choice)
Copyright release for personal use, posting, and printing (not altering)

Full-Digital Session - Session Fee $650
Included:
45-90 minute Session Time
30+ hand crafted edited images on CD (Artists Choice)
Copyright release for personal use, posting, and printing (not altering)

Mini-Digital Sessions will be best for family updates, sessions for little one's 1st year, etc. Full-Digital Sessions will be best for Seniors and Newborns. Newborn sessions will only be available as Full-Digital session due to their nature.

I will of course still offer printing to ensure quality. Since I will be including the release in these sessions, print pricing will be greatly reduced. An example of this is an 8X10 will be priced at $5.50 (for a complete list, please contact me). These prices will include my cost plus a small administrative processing fee. A minimum order of $50 will be required.

Also, I will still provide custom design and orders for cards, announcements, and albums. This will be on reasonable commission basis dependant client needs.

At this point, an apology for the many clients between my last post and this one. I slacked on my blog and it seems silly to blog clients who already have their images, but maybe I will pull some of my favs from the past few sessions to post soon.

This was such a great and patient family!! We scheduled late in the evening, the drive was a bit long, and I was late. Recipe for disaster! BUT we were able to capture some great shots and I really hope Mom and Dad are happy. I love these classic studio shots in black and white. They focus so much on the subjects! Baby girl was 2 months old, but we still were able to get some tender "newborn" type moments! Thanks again guys for all your patience with me and letting me hang out so late!

Ok, at least once in a holiday season, I have to ask a client to give me a second chance! This poor family was it this year. We scheduled on a weekday after work hours... with two kiddo's these ages, we might not have been sitting in our thinking chairs when we decided that was a good idea! 8-)

Not that we didn't get some lovely candid moments, but our re shoot went a little better to catch images for holiday cards!

Don't think I can call this much of a sneak peek considering their gallery was due yesterday!! This is the time of year I realize my human limitations. I have a tendency to bit off more than I can chew. I truly believe I can do it all... then football and soccer gets rescheduled because of rain and the baby starts teething and the three year old has a melt down unless we let her wear her crown and tutu to the park. 8-)

As many of you have seen in my galleries, I have historically focused my maternity work in a studio setting. I tend to get clients who want that setting because of my portfolio. I end up with a vicious cycle. Not that I do not love those images!

I want all my clients to know that studio is not the only option! Also, I have a tendency to love intimate images for these sessions and fill my gallery with the one's I love. Sometimes, this scares potential clients off... they all think they have to show too much skin. 8-) This is SO not the case. I want what YOU want out of the images. The following session reflects images I love and yet is subtle in showing the shape of a beautifully pregnant woman. Thank you so much Upshaw family for sharing this time in your lives with me!

Hi all!! It's been so nice around here with the temperatures dropping a bit. Starting to finally feel like FALL! Also reminds me of the Holiday Rush... sigh. I just wanted to re post to let you guys know these sessions fill up and not to wait. The earlier you book, the sooner your images are ready. It seems most folks realize just after Thanksgiving, when all their horribly sickeningly organized friends and family have put their cards in the mail, that holy smokes Christmas is just around the corner!

I do my best every year to get your images to you as soon as possible and even myself sent out "Happy New Year" cards because I waited too late to get MY personal family images done. I accommodated several clients last year up to a week before Christmas. I totally don't mind this, I love seeing you whenever you have time to book me, but I do think it might make YOU happier to be ahead of the curve instead of behind it.

ALL that to re post this season's Mini Session details and provide an UPDATE! I have had several clients inquire about an option not including the custom Holiday Cards. I will provide the same session as listed without cards for $325.

One last note... the flu recently hit our house. It sucks. Let me take this opportunity to make sure you all stock up on hand sanitizer and Lysol to help avoid it hitting yours. Wash hands, wash hands, wash hands. Teach your children to cough or sneeze into their elbows, not hands and to always cover their mouths. Sending out positive vibes and much love to you ALL!

I just HAD to share these latest of Rachel. Posting my own kids is a little of a guilty pleasure I guess. I am a Mom first after all. These were taken after Ms. Audrey straighted her hair and she demanded I take her "pit-chur" right away. Let me just say that I ran to the studio with her. My kids NEVER ask to have their picture taken so I just soaked it up! Enjoy! I'm biased but I think she's stunning!

Oh and I forced poor little Nathaniel into a basket outside. He was very nice to me about it but was totally not going to sleep for us and like it! Thanks Christine and Krystal for all the help!

This was awesome! This poor father wasn't too sure about me or the locations. After the shoot, he seemed a bit apprehensive as to the outcome. I was elated when he told me he was very pleased after seeing his images. I always tell my clients to just trust me and I was so happy this father did. It didn't hurt that the guys were ALL so photogenic. The youngest was a little shy, but has the most stunning blue eyes and angelic face. His older brother was a natural born poser! Well, I'm back!!! I meant to do so much on maternity leave and stay in touch, but I apparently can't function and hold the baby. Can't make phone calls or answer... might disturb Nate! Can't type well either... might have to put Nate down and we can't have that! 8-)

Nathaniel Stephen Rogers came on June 15th at 1:16pm. I'm sharing his birth announcement with you on this blog! He already has his own little personality and if anyone (like his mother) thought he would just come along and be laid back, realizing he was the 4th kiddo and chill, they were mistaken. Nate is, instead, determined to make his presence known and not be pushed around. And you know what... I kinda like that about him! So welcome to the world Nathaniel... we love you!!!

Of course I have to mention and update on the siblings!! Jake turned 8 in June and Rachel turned 3 in July! I picked my favs from their individual shoots to share with you. Threw David's in for fun.

NOW, I want all my clients to know that I am back and that I am accepting bookings again. I took quite a bit more time than I first expected, but Nathaniel is my last little newborn and I cherished every minute of my leave. I am ready now to get back at it. I am limiting my sessions to 2 per week for the next couple of months. I may increase in October and November for the holiday season and as Nathaniel gets more independant. Just drop me a note and we will find the perfect time for you and your families and I've missed you all! I want to thank all those clients and blog surfers for checking in on me while I was out!

PBJ Clothiers children's boutique, located in McKinney, TX, had a FAB fashion show this weekend. I was able to grab a couple of the models after the shoot for some close ups. Aren't they stunning??

They have some very cute children's clothes in stock with GREAT designers like 3 Pommes, IKKS, and Catimini. Don't be surprised to see Rachel dressed up in her "goods" very soon! You KNOW I'm going to have to get her pic in some of her new clothes!

Hi all! No images to share on this one, just wanted to communicate how things might go in the next few months. I am currently 5 months preg with a brand new baby boy due in June. After having some concerning issues this weekend and being instructed to "slow down", I am going to alter some of my policies. I am going to limit on-location "studio" sessions.

The only sessions I will be doing this way are newborns and then only in my 25 mile radius of Allen, TX. For booking an at home "studio" newborn session I will require a big strapping Dad or Grandpa to help me bring in some of my stuff. I have a posing bench that gets a wee heavy. And since I usually don't havve a hard time by myself, they might not need to be THAT big or strapping. 8-)

I will continue doing studio sessions in my home and all outdoor location sessions till at least Mid-May unless there are any complications or developments I don't expect. I will also be taking off 6 weeks after the birth from shooting. WELL, I'll have my own little new born to get images of so I'll probably be hanging the poor little thing from a tree branch at 3 days old, so don't give on my Blog!

Last but not least, I will be excited to get back and just in time for family holiday sessions mid-summer into the fall. Thanks for reading this far and I'll be posting more images in a day or two!

I know it's image overload, but I loved this session. What a fun guy and fun family. He's SO tall! Well, I'm sort of short, but still. I usually debate on my favorite type of session. This one has be swaying to Senior sessions. They are so awesome. Of course I'll hold a newborn in a few days and that will all change. 8-)Hope you guys enjoy the sneak.

I'm sharing an image from a year ago when he was brand new. I can't believe how much he's grown....

I truely LOVE seeing families grow like this. Thank you guys for coming back to see me and allowing me to take Mr. C's 1 year images. He was just a dream. Smiled pretty much the whole time and get a load of those beautiful eyes. I have a lot of "looking straight at the camera" images from this session, but honestly, I love the moments captured that are less posed. Thanks again guys!

PBJ is offering their stock at 50% off retail values to make way for their new spring line. BEST time to get real quality designer clothes for your little one. I went a little nuts and bought up sizes for Rachel for next fall. Is that cheating?? 8-)

True Rumors also has some great values. 50% of on most items (like ED HARDY t-shirts!!) and then 25% on certain other items. These sales only last through the end of January so I wouldn't wait.

As I write, the kids are getting their baths. The noise is concerning and the splashing seems a little excessive, but hey at least they aren't hanging on me. 8-)

As mentioned in my last post, I wanted to take this oportunity to share some of my favorite images from this holiday season. Hello all!! I have been MIA, but it's because I've been SO BUSY and not because I've been out of commission. I'm on my way out of town and wanted to give an eager Mom a sneak peek ;-). Mom, I have not done studio images yet, but may blog again when I return from out of town.

I am going to make a special post with some of my favorite moments from this season's family shot upon my return as well. I will be going to celebrate Christmas with my grandmother this weekend, but will be home Sunday evening and be here all the way through to New Years Eve. Although I contemplated closing shop till Mid-January to recoup from the amazingly busy Holiday Rush, I decided that I would be here if any of you would like to book. I will not book Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or New Year's Eve, but other than that I will be available. Hope everyone is enjoying this wondeful time of year!!

Our girls are growing up... and they can run! Getting them all together proved a little too much to ask. They were WAY interested in exploring. Sitting still... not so much. 8-) We were able to catch them one at a time though and I hope mom and dad feel it was worth the stress. I just don't know how they do it, but they handle things way better than I could (with a little help from Grandma, thanks Grandma!!). Enjoy the sneek peek.

I'm BACK!

I'm so happy to be HOME! I was gone quite a bit longer than expected. My grandmother actually had 3 fractures in her spine. One was older and had been healing on it's own (can you imagine??) and the other two were new. They did surgery on her back and she is now home and receiving therapy and has home health aids. I have tried for over a year to move her closer to me, but she is determined to stay in her home of 50 years and who can blame her. Just please pray for my family as we go through this chapter of life!

I went to the Dr. and saw the new baby's heartbeat. I'm 8 weeks along! We are so excited to get a new member of the family... I could do with out the morning sickness, but I know it's worth it.

ANYWAY, I'm back and actually had three sessions this weekend after my return and they ROCKED!! I can't wait to show you some sneak peeks, but for now I will share some of the sessions I was completing before I left.

Ok, no pics this post. I wanted to use this as an avenue to let my clients and blog friends know about some issues currently in my family. After some moving and rescheduling from last weekend, we have more issues this weekend. I am on my way this morning to East Texas. My grandmother (Mother really as she raised me from a small child) is in the hospital and I must be there with her. She has back issues and is afflicted with Fibro-Myalgia which is an extremely painful condition.

We are at that point in life where we need to make some decisions on her care. I want her to move in with me, but she is fiercely independent so that is just a battle we continue to fight. She is also 84 so the Dr.'s are more cautious with her care. She should have surgery on her back to correct some of her issues, but her age stops them from making that a reality.

As some you may already know, I also recently found out I am pregnant! We are thrilled, but it has caused me to be a bit tired and slower with my images than usual. If I remember from my last three pregnancies though, that feeling will pass in another week or two. Thanks to all of those who have already sent well wishes.

For those who are booking, I attempted to contact you all individually. For those only just now contacting me, I will respond as soon as I return. If you would like to speak sooner, you can call my cell phone at 972-965-9141. For those of you awaiting images, I will be working on them in the Hospital and at least I should be able to focus a bit there. I will post what I complete when I return.

... mostly!! Might get a little deep here so feel free to just continue to the images. I'm been in a bit of a funk lately. As many of you know, I work full-time outside of my photography business as well. The main goal is to transition to solely run my business. While I knew it would be difficult to grow a business and be a responsible employee at the same time, I guess I did not realize HOW difficult. I strive to keep my clients happy, my boss happy, and last but certainly not least, to be a quality involved mother and wife. As a client put it so aptly recently, sometimes Super Woman's cape gets holes in it. 8-)

Anyway, I've been out of pocket the last few weeks, still working, but not knowing how to find time to edit, work, post blogs, get everyone to soccer practice, guitar lesson's, school, do laundry, and make sure everyone is clean and fed! SO... I can't promise that my posting will get better, but I'm trying to get use to the schedule. While some of these are not previews, I did want to let you guys all know what I've been working on lately and that I'm still committed to my dream!!

I take hundreds of images in a session. I love going through the images and finding "THE" moments. The moments that are unscripted and real are my favorites. I hope Mom and Dad like the preview!

For ALL those out there expecting gallery passwords, please be aware that we are out of town this weekend so it may be Sunday night or Monday night before your images are posted. It's been nuts with work, soccer, back-to-school activities (we already had home work and it was just "meet the teacher night"...???)

PB&J Clothiers Fall Fashion Show!!!

This is part one of my sneak peek for the PB&J Clothiers Fall Fashion Show that was held this past weekend. They have some AMAZING designers and collections in the boutique. They are located on Virginia Pkwy in McKinney, west of US75 in the new Adriatica district. We had so much fun and MAN could these little models work the runway. There were over 30 models who participated and made it an event to remember.

I have come to a realization with current sessions that it really takes everyone involved for these images to be successful. Women seem to naturally be inclined want to capture moments to treasure and hold close. While I believe men want just as much to preserve memories, they sometimes are more apprehensive to the process. I want to thank the Dad's out there that make the effort to work with me to make these images special. It means a lot to me that they trust me and help me to create art for them and their families. I just want to thank everyone who invites me into their homes with such warmth and allows me to participate in their lives.

Talking about trust and it taking a village... poor Mom and Dad put in quite a work out to help us get these shots. Mr. G was pretty suspicious of the big "tent" with the flashing light. Took a while to get his guard down, but with Mom and Dad's help we got some super cute shots.

Hold on to your hats...

It's going to be a long post! Some of you may have thought I quit or was REALLY slow (thanks for the emails checking in), but the truth is I can hardly catch my breath. It's been so busy! So much so, that I have neglected my poor Blog. Well, I decided to do a catch-up post so this is going to be a long one.

FIRST: My triplets... well OK, they aren't MY triplets, but I feel attached to them just the same. This is the second time I had the honor of taking their picture and I hope to be able to share in their lives as they grow. Big brother is a real sweet heart too. ;-)

SECOND: An AWESOME maternity session. These guys were so cute and in love. They were smiling the whole time. Loved their images (aren't they adorable!) and here are a few of my faves. Thanks guys for being patient with me and letting me use my kool new backdrops!

THIRD: Sugar and Spice!! These two were running hot and cold on me! We ended up doing a studio and a location shoot. The baby was NOT in the mood on location and then when we had studio, big sis turned into a shy little flower. I think we got some great shots though and they really were dolls.

FOURTH: Beautiful new baby boy. This little guy was barely a week old and his cheeks were just so chunky I wanted to squeeze them! He was such a good little model and let me pose and move him around. Even caught a smile!

FIFTH: Baby K arrived!! I had the pleasure of taking the maternity images for this great little family. This session went well too. I'm having the best luck with my little newborn clients these days (knock on wood). I was so happy with these images. I think it helped that Mom and Dad were so calm. This is the first baby, but they were pros at this new baby stuff! I couldn't believe it. I was a MESS with my first... and second... and, well, you get the idea.

AND after all that, I still have two galleries in my que as well as two weddings to finish and a Gala to report on (Stop by True Rumors and PBJ Clothiers in McKinney when you get a chance... GREAT new stores). Don't give up on me, hopefully I can post more often!

THIS is another reason I love this job! I love the people I meet. This family is so great. They have SO much going on. Senior graduating, daughter getting married, and having fun the whole way. The children in this family are so independant and unique. I hope that when my children reach this stage they are as well rounded. Thanks guys for allowing me be part of this time in your lives.
